Alasdair's First Photo Shoot

We needed some pictures of Alasdair on a white background for his U.S. and U.K. passports. Nikki got it done yesterday. Alasdair is stuck with this picture for 5 years! Should be interesting getting him through immigration in 2013. Here are the ones we had to choose from.

Here's a link to view them bigger and, should you need a full size version of any for printing and sticking on fridges, let us know.

ahh, I remember doing this with Rhys.
stupidly, I first tried to do it in a photobooth, trying to keep myself and my hands out of the shot! impossible... Rhys still has his photo from when he was 3 months, still looks like him though!

You've been teaching him "faces" haven't you Ian?

All are too adorable to choose!

Mum: The way we cropped them First Alternate had too much writing on it, so the one I marked as 'The Winner' is the one the woman in the passport office chose. Wish I was allowed a cheesy smile on my passport.

Laura: I hope you still have those photobooth ones, that sounds hilarious.

Christine: About time you got Katie a passport isn't it? Stick her with the photo before she decides to cut all her lovely hair off.

Jen: There may be some encouragement on the part of his parents to make funny faces, yes.

Ian+ Nikki: 2 things. 1) I took 4 photos for them to choose for James's US passport but I sent 8 photos for the poor British passport office and told them to pick which one they wanted. So I feel a common bond now.

2) I know you'll probably hear from everyone their opinion on who Alisdair looks like... indeed I would meet one person one day who'd be convinced Emily was spitting image of me and then the next who'd swear the opposite and so on for a very long time, which is why I don't usually mention these things but does anyone think Alisdair's face is Nikki (bottom half), you (top). Not sure who the nose goes to though...

Aaaah passport photos for babies! You've done well Nikki, Alasdair looks fine in them. I remember doing Lachlan's in a photo booth in 1999 when he was only 8 weeks and I was allowed to have my hands in the photo, they've since changed that rule. Calum didn't get a pssport until he was 4 so that was easy! Got Magnus's done at our local chemist and it was great- the wifie took his photo while he was sitting on my lap and I had a white towel over me so you couldn't see me at all! She even offered to take as many as needed but she got him perfectly first time. It's a bit daft that they have that photo til they are five, but thank goodness they allow it or we'd be going through the hassle every year...

The first photo really made me think he was trying to do some sort of kung fu, and I found that all the photos were absolutely hilarious because I imagined them as part of a fight sequence, although clearly the second one should be last. Is there something wrong with me?

Ian said...

Lizzie: You may be right. I definitely see the same things most days. I think the nose might be my ski slope too.

Vikki: That white towel trick is a great idea. We could have thought of that I suppose.

Shanks: Hmm...I like what you're thinking...Duly noted, reordered and recaptioned. Nikki's going to kill me, but it's so worth it.

Brilliant. The new captions are brilliant.

Fi: I can't take any credit for the photos, they were all the work of my better half.

Shanks: Thanks for the idea. I had loads of fun with it.

Could be. And being rather rude, (and busy), I haven't even replied to anyone in the last week. So, uh, thank you, everyone.
