We've takin' oor team in to Europe, and we've got through a round!!
All the way, every night and day singing our European song...

Something weird has happened to Scottish football - it's called doing well...

I know, it's bizarre isn't it? Hope there's a nice big team for one of the home games at Pittodrie

Did you see THIS silliness?

Oh yeah, I hate Celtic more than most, but even I think the keeper made a little bit of a meal out of that one.

Aberdeen doing well in Europe? Didn't that happen one time before, 1983 if memory serves.

Ian, did you get to see that game at all?

1983... remember it well! We actually got to watch the match in our primary school gym hall the next day as our headmaster was a huge Dons fan and thought it would be nice. Of course for anyone who doesn't know Aberdeen won the European Cup Winners' Cup beating Real Madrid 2-1 in Gothenburg at the Ullevi stadium.

We went to the stadium 15 years later so Iain could kiss it!

Which game? The one on Thursday I didn't, it wasn't on any channels here, but I hope some of the group games will be.

The final in '83, I saw. Some idiot neglected to wake me up for the Bayern Munich quarter final, but my wonderful sister has since bought it for me on DVD.

Ah, 1983. I can hardly type for the tears in my eyes. Not old enough to travel to Gothenburg at the time, but lucky enough to be a season ticket holder at Pittodrie and get along to all the home games. Bayern will always be special - for some reason I was in the beach end with my brothers while my dad was in the South Stand and it was just an amazing night. Don't think I could speak for days after.

By the way, I hate Celtic more than you, but that Dida was being a big jessie. Celtic should still be fined and thrown out of the cup though.

So, I finally get to the video and it's "NO LONGER AVAILABLE"! What am I missing? ? ?

Crap, yeah, it's gone. Sorry, you missed a great goal from Darren Mackie that put Aberdeen into the group stages of the UEFA Cup
