Still Waiting

As most of you know, our debut child was due out yesterday. So far, s/he has chosen not to put in an appearance. We are at the doctor now demanding some answers and can only apologize to you all for this delay.

You should apologize. It's killing me here.

Here's to a pain free delivery for Nikki! I'm still waiting. . .

Still nothing. At this point we're looking at the positives, like every time this kid is running late we'll be able to say "You were late for your own birth and you'll be late for your own funeral".

Nikki is not consoled.

Mine were 10 days, 10 days, and 11 days late. All I can say is how long until they induce Nikki? Here they wouldn't even consider it til 10 days over. It is the longest part of the pregnancy though - I know exactky how you feel Nikki! (I still want another one!)
One of the worst parts was everyone asking me "You still not had that baby yet?" GRRRRR!

And, if the heat there is anything like the heat here - I feel for Nikki. Stepping outside is like taking your life into your hands. Death by melting is just not cool. And she's got two!

Vikki: The doc said he won't let her go past 41 weeks, so I hope they'll induce on Tuesday. We have an appointment at 3:30 that day. Of course, it's not going to go that long.

Jen: Yes, it forteleventy jintillion degrees outside. So, yes, not spending much time outdoors at the moment

I heard that sometimes a good fright helps giving birth, the same way it helps getting rid of hiccups. Have you tried that yet?

All the old wife tales don't work; look back at my blog and you will see I tried them all. The baby will come when it is ready! That's good news about the 41 week limit. Wish they'd done that here!

S/he will come soon enough and then you'll be asking how it came round so quickly!
All waiting for news in Glasgow and wishing all three of you well.
Fi...xxx

I quite amused by the "scare Nikki into giving birth idea".

There's no news on the blog today so maybe baby will be defiant and make an appearance tonight to avoid Nikki being induced. Either way it's pretty exciting as tomorrow is Tuesday!

We're hoping the pressure drop associated with Tropical Storm Edouard will kick things off...that could be clutching at straws though.

By the way, Nikki believes it's all Alex's fault as the baby seems to be aiming for his birthday on Thursday. I'm not sure she'll ever forgive him.

Convenient that I popped up just as my name was mentioned, you won't believe how difficult it's been to get access to Blogger where I am. I just bet young Edouardo will pop out on my birthday thus overshadowing me (and that would have to be a hell of a shadow) for all time.

Your sofa is too ugly for the internet, comfy though!

Well...funny you should say that...
