Waiting

Preparations are pretty much complete. We're all just sitting and waiting. Tim lost his favourite spot under the sofa bed to a storage box, but appears to have found a suitable replacement.

But he's about to get eaten by a snake. Careful, Tim!

I think you underestimate the, uh, scared rabbit-like reflexes of our Timothy. Even when he's sprawled out on the floor he's ready to run. That snake can't move fast enough.

Ooooh! How exciting for you 2! So, when is the due date?

Due date? Is there a due date for snakes to eat rabbits?

Your nursery looks gorgeous! You put us to shame... Magnus is in his room now but it still has the bookcases in and no carpet. We were going to sand and varnish the floorboards but now we're going to get a soft carpet instead. Just haven't got round to it. I guess we will by the time he's crawling.

I'm afraid I don't like the colour, I think you need to change it!

Alli: The sprog is due July 30ish.

Shanski: I am reliably informed it is not a snake, it's a turtle. The due date on when a turtle could catch a rabbit is never. Now hares and tortoises, that one's a toss-up.

Vikki: Thanks. But then, we didn't have two other sprogs to deal with in the run-up. So maybe an unfair comparison.

Alex: You're welcome to come out and repaint it any other shade of yellow you talk Nikki into. Good luck.

Huh what will people think of your mother? I like the nursery it's very yellow but bright & welcoming looking. I don't like this new post comment thing

The yellow is not that deep, the camera flash didn't do it justice. I wouldn't worry what people think, all mothers insist on their kids getting outside into the sunshine, surely? Sorry you don't like the comment thing. Nikki's not keen on it either, so it may not be long for this world

ahhh.. that's beautiful
and practical - cleaning baby sick and wee off a wooden floor is so much easier than carpet. I know this.

That's good to know. And disturbing. All at the same time.

It won't be just wee...

Tim and the sprog can have a competition to see who can drop the most crap on the floor.

Not just the floor. you'll have to coat yourself with teflon you know.
